Okay, okay. Who didn't think Nicki Minaj would sign to Young Money/Universal? But at one point I was doubting that Drake would(as much as I wanted him to). Well, she made the official announcement today.
“I am honored to have Nicki Minaj as Young Money’s First Lady. She is a star,” Lil Wayne said in a statement.
The battle among labels to sign Minaj reached its peak this summer and finalized with Minaj signing an exceptional and very unique deal with Young Money/Universal, where she retains and owns all of her 360 rights, including merchandising, sponsorships, endorsements, touring, and publishing.
“To say I’m excited would be an understatement. It’s validation. It’s proof. It’s empowerment. I represent every little girl in a ’hood near you,” stated Minaj. “To everyone that supported me two years ago when I was on underground mixtapes and DVDs and to the people that only caught on two weeks ago, I say thank you. Be proud of yourself. You’ve given girls all around the world the permission to change the face of female rap.”
Minaj’s debut album is scheduled for an early 2010 release and will be distributed through Universal Motown.

Yesss! The most anticipated video of the summer, Successful, was released this morning on MTV. Is it me or is this video missing something....Oh yeah; WAYNE. Wtf?
Just like I said, Drake looks like he's acting a little "hard" if you ask me. But maybe that's the way he felt when he wrote it. Who knows..
And if you havn't noticed, the song has been altered slightly giving Trey more than just the hook to sing. I'm sure you know why, but if you don't; for some(dumb)reason, Drake did not want Successful on his greatly awaited LP. Trey(being slightly smarter than Drake)jumped on the chance to have it on his CD, Ready.
The video is actually GOOD, though. Despite no Wayne and Drake playing roles. I really like it. It's simple and mysterious. They both look good, so job well done.

Twitter does it AGAIN. About a week or so ago Lil Twist of Young Money tweets some ish about Omarion has been dropped from YM and he wishes him the best. Wtf? Didn't this nigga JUST announce that he was in the shit? His career is officially dead. Rumor has it that Omarion leaked a song with him and Lil Wayne; Bad move, homie. Omarion tweeted a couple days after Lil Twist saying that he did not get dropped. He left because that was the best move for his career at that point.= / Negro, PLEASE. He was gone in a week. Whassup?!?! Whew. I just got back from my trip to New York. So, I apologize for the lack of blogging. Well, I had fun. We stayed in the suburbs(a ways away from NYC I might add)but we briefly visited the city. Did some shopping and everything. But I still want to have that REAL New York experience. Stay in the heart of the city, shop, shop, shop, and partay. I guess that can wait, though. The one thing I love about New York, though, is that it is SO diverse. Like, the biggest damn melting pot. So many flavors to choose from, ya dig?;-)
Whitney Houston is officially back. She's working on a new CD and just look at her! She has returned to the beautiful women she was years ago. Getting rid of Bobby did her some good. Hopefully she still sounds as good as she looks.
So, Mr. Steezy (Check Him Out) introduced me to the How Fly mixtape by Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa. I downloaded it and I listened. I was pleased. Pleased and impressed. I've heard Curren$y before but it was the first time I've heard Wiz Khalifa. I don't have much criticism yet because I havn't made it through all the songs(I have a short attention span)but I don't have anything bad to say. My favorite track so far is Planes. But yeah, go check it out.

So, every month I'm gonna have a "theme" for posting inspirational and dope people. This months theme is fly ass chicks.
First fly ass chick is Amber Rose. She's hot and her style is eccentric but simple at the same time. She keeps it real about everything and is sticking to Kanye(for a while hopefully) instead of roaming through the whole rap industry.

Okay, so as trends change, the type of boys change with them. Some boys follow trends, while some invent them. This is my analyzation of the "new era" of boys.
Hood boys Clothing- Baggy jeans, oversized solid tees, a fitted cap, Nike or Jordan sandals, solid gym shoes or shoes to match a fitted(probably Forces). Character Traits- Rude, cusses a lot, has a "fuck everybody" mentality. Ambitions- To be a rapper, NBA, or NFL player. Exceptions- Some guys act as a hood boy because they grew up in the hood and want to fit in with those around them. They might dress and act like one but it is all an act.
Skaters Clothing- Button-ups or graphic tees, skinny jeans, colorful sneakers(Creative Recs, Ice Creams, ect.), book bag, and skateboard is ALWAYS in tow. Character Traits- Free spirited, down for whatever, sensitive, and eccentric. Ambitions- They usually keep their options open by not commiting to one thing, but they want a job where they have the freedom to come and go as they please. Exceptions- Guys who are just following the trend and trying to fit in.
Ralph Lauren Boys Clothing- Polos or button-ups, cargos or fitted jeans, Maury's or Prada's, always have an accessory such as, a scarf or diamond earring. Character Traits- Very well put together, neat and clean, sensitive, and usually a lady's man. Ambitions- They aspire to be something great, a leader of some sort. Exceptions- There aren't many exceptions to this type of guy.
Punk Rockers Clothing- Dark colors, studded belts, wallet chains. Character Traits- Outspoken, different, doesn't care about what anybody thinks, a loner at times. Ambitions- To be a rockstar or musician, though they often know that it might not happen. Exceptions- Guys who don't seem to fit in anywhere tend to drift to this category because of the appeal.
Classic Boys Clothing- Hoodies, plain tees, fitted jeans, Jordans or Forces, and a diamond earring.Character Traits- Outgoing, not a follower of trends, honest, and usually funny. Ambitions- They tend not to think too much into the future but they want to do something practical. Exceptions- Not many exceptions to classic boys.
Pretty Boys Very similar to a Ralph Lauren boy Clothing- Graphic tees, button-ups, or polos, cargos, skinny jeans, or fitted jeans, fitted caps, Pradas, Jordans, Gucci shoes, or Creative Recs, diamond earring, a brush and carmex always at arms length. Character Traits- Sometimes shy, sometimes outgoing, they sometimes follow trends to a certain extent, they care about their looks and always have to be fresh. Ambitions- They want to do something where they can be seen. Exceptions- Boys who aren't "pretty" at all. They may have all the characteristics, but you have to be fairly good-looking.
Trend Followers Clothing- Whatever the media says is "in style". Character Traits- Outgoing, hangs with different groups of people, wants everyone to like them, wants to be accepted, a natural follower(can be good or bad). Ambitions- Doesn't really have any. Exceptions- There aren't any. Trend followers just want to fit in, so no one could pose as one because they generally are the posers.
I like Pretty boys, Ralph Lauren boys, and Skaters. But that's just me.
